Anytime we want to try something new, we are confronted by our own thoughts of “What if…”
“What if it doesn’t work?”
“What if I fail?”
“What if the plan goes south?”
We tend to expect the very worst of any given situation. The thing is we don’t know how it is going to turn out. It is just as likely (or probably more likely) that things turn out well as it is that things don’t turn out well. At this point we just don’t know. So why bother saying all these what if it goes bad? If we are going to ask "what if" anyway, why don’t we try instead “What if it does work?”, “What if I succeed?”, “What if the plan goes better than I thought?”
At this point it is just as likely to go either way, up or down. Why bother worrying about it and feeling crappy about it before there is anything to feel crappy about in the first place? Expect good things and maybe even better things will happen.
